How was your thanksgiving? We Tarija volunteers would have invited you to our river celebration, but we were desperate not to run out of turkey this year!

It is infrequent that PCVs (Peace Corps Volunteers) can go home for Thanksgiving – which can be tough, but learning how to cook family recipes in the tiny ovens we have is quite an adventure!

We had a great Winston Harrell baking piespot-luck dinner – and Winston made the BEST triple crown pie!! The day was filled with celebration Laurie and Lindsay Dudley celebrating the day!and more food than we’ve seen since last Thanksgiving!      B41, Winston, Steve, Shelby, & Emelia

We took a family field trip about 15 minutes outside of Tarija city to a really nice house by a river and dined with real tablecloths! The Tarija Family at dinner

Spring is slowly turning to summer and the rainy season – which meant we had a green field on which to play touch football.Jump higher, Bill is at least 6'5'' !! Not to worry there was only one injury on the day – and amazingly itEsther's game face! did NOT occur when Sarah Anderson dove into an adobe brick wall to catch the ball!

As I said, so how was your Thanksgiving!?
